I've gone freaking coo coo! Here is another awesome song, that I am sure speaks to many. You're Not Alone by Meredith Andrews.

Hey everyone! I am so dangerous. I just figured out how to post my fav music and videos to posts. Here is my fav song at the moment by Addison Road, What Do I Know of Holy?

Beth Rocks!

Ok, Beth Moore's new Bible study, Esther: It's Tough Being a Woman is out. Lifeway AllAccess website is giving away a free Leader Kit. Check it out, you may win and could donate it to your church or other worthy cause after you've done it.

Progressive Dinner Christmas Party

I am so excited! My Church's Worship Choir is having a Progressive Dinner for our Christmas Party. I am a host home and need some help with decorating. Please submit any ideas (ex. tablelscape). I will be setting a table for 10! I know there are some very creative people out there and any of your ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Prayer Requests

I have a prayer request. I will be singing in my church service Sunday, November 23 in the evening service. Please pray that pride and the need for attention be destroyed and replaced with the desire to worship my God and lead others in the same. Thanks.

Satan is Trying Hard

Please read this absolutely ridiculous article and leave your comments. My heart breaks for atheists, agnostics and other non-theists (as they like to call themselves). What really stood out to me was they are doing this so they don't feel alone and lonely at the holidays. I want to scream: "Look to God that is what he wants. He wants a relationship with you, in fact that is his only focus, YOU!" Now if that doesn't appeal to a "Me Society" what will? I will be praying for those who have created this ad campaign and those who go to the sight. I will pray they will run to God for love, not self.

Prayer Requests

I will soon add a side bar option called, Prayer Requests. Please feel free to send me any prayer requests you may have and I will post them on this option. I believe in the power of prayer and would like for this to be an open forum for that. You can certainly leave anonymous requests, God knows who you are. If you would like to leave me updates, that would be great. I love how God encourages His believers through answered prayer.

You can leave a request by going to View Full Profile, Email. I'll be praying for you all.

God's Miracles

I am soooooo excited! My baby sister was baptized yesterday! Yeah! She has been a Christian for several years, but I was so proud that she finally made her public profession of faith. She was excited as well. See, God performs miracles, big and small, all the time. He is the awesome God.

Bragging Rights

Ok, this is just the cutiest baby ever...of course I am a bit biased. She is my cousin's child. This is Anna, the first child born in our family from my group of cousins. She is precious and sweet and I wish I could see her more often. Since I can't I'll just brag on her. I'm sure her mom won't mind.

Hey Anna! See you at Christmas!

Sound Files

Does anyone know how I can put a sound file (mp3) in my posting? A little guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

What Do I Know of Holy?

I have just recently discovered an awesome Christian band, Addison Road. I do not know anything about them other than their songs have the most awesome lyrics. One song in particular has made a major impact on my life, What Do I Know of Holy?

What Do I Know of Holy? (To listen click on the Title, Go to Media, & Music, then flip thru the player until you find our song) By Jenny Simmons & Alli Rogers

I’ve made you promises a thousand times
I’ve tried to hear from heaven but I talk the whole time
I think I made you too small, I’ve never feared you at all
If you touched my face would I know you?
Looked into my eyes could I behold you?

What do I know of you who spoke me into motion
Where have I even stood but the shore along your ocean?
Are you fire, are you fury Are you sacred, are you beautiful
What do I know? What do I know of holy?

I guess I thought that I had you figured out
I knew all the stories and I learned to talk about
How you were mighty to save
But those were only empty words on a page
Then I caught a glimpse of who you might be
The slightest hint of you brought me down to my knees

What do I know of you who spoke me into motion
Where have I even stood but the shore along your ocean?
Are you fire, are you fury Are you sacred, are you beautiful
What do I know? What do I know of holy?

What do I know of Holy?
What do I know of wounds that will heal my shame?
And a God who gave life its name
What do I know of Holy?
Of the One who the angels praise
All creation knows your name O
n earth and heaven above What do I know of this love?

What do I know of you who spoke me into motion
Where have I even stood but the shore along your ocean?
Are you fire, are you fury Are you sacred, are you beautiful

What do I know? What do I know of holy?

I have been a Christian since I was 14 and this song made me realize my hypocrisy. I know I am saved, no doubt, but do I appreciate my God? Am I a Surface Christian? I realized I have been very selfish and taken my God for granted. But most importantly, what do I really know of holy?

What is holy?
Holman's dictionary defines holy as: A characteristic unique to God’s nature which becomes the goal for human moral character...it means something or someone who evokes “veneration or awe, being frightening beyond belief.” This is clearly the application to God and is the primary meaning of “holy.” God is holy...He is unsearchable, incomprehensible, incomparable, great, wonderful, and exalted. His name is Holy.

I'm just curious how this song impacts you. God has definatly spoken to my heart and caused real change. How about you? Please share your stories of this song or another song's impact on your walk with our God.

The 'Trophy Kids' Go to Work

I found this article on BooMama (one of my fav blogs) and I thought it very, very interesting. Being grouped into the "Trophy Kid" generation simply based on when I was born, I am wondering how others grouped as myself feel about this article. I definately have an opinion, but I'd like to hear yours before I grace you with my wisdom. Check it out:

Yellow Dog and Falcor

I need to introduce two very special individuals to everyone:

This is Daisy (Yellow Dog) (6 months old/40 pounds and climbing)

She has definately made life interesting. But she has a big brother, my maltese, Bruiser (Falcor - 4 yrs old/6 pounds):

But now he's not alone. It's Sweet Love

It's really hilarious!

Ok, there nicknames - Yellow Dog and Falcor (Neverending Story, come on all you 80's babies) - are courtesy of our friend Troy. Thanks Man.

But D loves to make fun of Bruiser, has since the day they met. D's favorite nickname for Bruiser is ferret. Do all husbands/boyfriends make fun of their wives/girlfriend's lap dogs? Yes, I am an owner of a lapdog and not afraid to proclaim it.

Since the introduction of Daisy into our lives I have become a Caesar Milan and Victoria Stillwell fanatic. I am all about calm, submissive sound aversion. Caesar and Victoria, you're my heros! Just one question, why is my dog insane?!

I'm sure I am not the only one frustrated with their puppy. But it's all worth it, they are the best.

Ok too much rambling. Talk to you later.

Election 2009

Can I just say, this election has gone on FOREVER! I, of course, did my civic duty this morning and voted. And I love to vote, I believe that if I do not I vote, I have no right to complain. This is my country and I want my voice heard (I'm sure that is such a shock to some of you).

Ok, with the civic lesson over...how long did everyone stand in line today? I was only there 45 minutes, which I think is awesome. But man, was there some major whinning going on around me (hmm, makes you reflect on the state of our country). I don't mind waiting and actually enjoyed getting to visit with my neighbors and meet new friends. I applaud you all who voted.

One last note: No matter who you may want to win the elections, please pray for those who win. My pastor gave a wonderful sermon on this exact subject on Sunday. Please listen, pray and do as God leads you: Go to this link http://www.truthcasting.com/TruthcastingPlayer.swf?channelID=100000009 and choose the sermon entitled, Citizen Christian from Nov 3.

Love you all and look forward to hearing about your experiences on Election Day 2009
